The Wines &
Spirits
Wines
from all over France are easy to find along with some from
other countries.
Most of
them (bottle for bottle) are less expensive than the UK,
Germany & Scandinavia.
Of the
local wines in the region we would recommend:
Bergerac
medium bodied Reds & dry Whites
Cahors
full bodied and earthy Reds
Montbazzillac sweet desert White - perfect with Foie Gras
Buzet
from the eastern edge of the Bordeaux wine area has medium
bodied Reds & dry/fruity Whites
But then
of course all the Bordeaux wines are only two hours away
should you wish to visit.
Spirits such as Cognac and Armagnac are also produced locally
and are good value.
(Whisky
& Gin if you prefer are less expensive than in the UK also)
